PDX: Ya Hala

Hey All!We had a lovely meal this evening at Ya Hala in SE Portland over on Stark at about 79th. It is a delightful Lebanese restaurant. Our meal consisted of hummous, tabouleh, kibbeh, lamb kabobs on a bed of basmati rice and a glass of their Lebanese house wine.I thought the hummous was good. Pretty standard stuff. It could have been even better with garlic and more olive oil, but it was pretty darned good as it was. The tabouleh was fine. I like it with a bit more mint kick than this had, but still, quite yummy! The kibbeh was heavenly! It was what I went there for and it was absolutely perfect! The lamb kabobs over the rice were delicious, as well. The red house wine paired quite nicely with the meal since the carnivorous portions of the meal had red meat. This was the first time I've ever been to this restaurant and would recommend it to anyone who finds him or herself in the mood for good middle eastern fare.Best regards,Amanda
