On RM's rec, used my coupon for this place tonight. It's a pleasant space in a strip mall, not too far out on Hwy 10. They have decent decor, minus the -------- chairs,

We ordered four items: 1) thoung-thong, shrimp and crab "won tons"; 2) labb, minced pork salad; 3) kang kua kung, prawns and pineapple in red curry; 4) neua pad prik, beef and bamboo shoots sauteed in special chili sauce.

The "won tons" were nicely golden, as their name suggests, and crisp. The crab and shrimp were very mild in flavor. There were eight of the pieces along with a plum sauce. They were good enough, the type of thing my wife likes. I would have rather tried the tod mun (fish cakes).

The labb was a very good preparation of this dish. Well-balanced dressing with a very nice toasted rice texture and mint. The portion size wasn't very big, but it was fair. I got pork, but you can also choose chicken or beef.

The curry was too thin. But honestly, I think this is because my wife ordered it mild. For such a thin curry, it had a decent flavor and decent balance. It was a bit sweet, but it's a pineapple curry and ordered mild. I'd like to try their curries again.

The flavor of the beef stir fry grew on me. I would have expected it to have a fish sauce component, but I suspect it was flavored with soy. But it had a deep and interesting flavor, but something I associate more with Chinese than Thai flavors. The beef, btw, had a little off flavor. Some might say that it tasted aged, but I would say that it tasted old.

Overall, a decent to good Thai meal that puts it with the second tier of Portland Thai, among the better newer places still in the set of Thai restaurants worth visiting. Actually not far from a couple of my clients, so it may be a reasonable spot for future lunches.
