This is a malt shop/diner near the Vancouver Mall, in the same shopping center with Winco, Target, and Bed, Bath, & Beyond. An odd spot, but it outperforms its location.

We didn't go for food, just for desserts. Tried a malted vanilla shake and a sundae. Sorry, no prices. I think they were around $4-$5 for the sundae and $3 or so for the shake.

The shake was a classic hard ice cream shake, thick, but not in such a way that it was essentially just soft serve in a glass. It came with the extra on the side. My one complaint is that some of the malt was stuck on the bottom of the blender cup and wasn't mixed in that well.

The sundae was huge, doming over the dish it came in. Can't remember the name exactly, something like Bananarama. It had bananas, hot fudge, and ice cream topped with whipped cream, nuts, and a cherry. I believe they use the Cascade Glacier brand of ice cream, a line made in Eugene. It was hard to judge the ice cream's quality under all those other toppings, but it seemed adequate.

They have a large menu. One whole page is devoted to sundaes and another is devoted to shakes, malts, floats, etc. Then they have hot foods, such as hamburgers, hot dogs, and other diner fare. Didn't try any of that, though.

The place itself is loaded with homages to yesteryear. Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, etc, cover the walls, along with pictures of old cars, ads, whathaveyou. They sell nostalgic candy, too, and you can even buy yourself a Betty Boop notebook. They seem to make the best of their location.

Not sure when I'll try it again because that kind of place isn't where I normally eat, but I know some on this board (ehem, Jill-O) having been looking for a sodafountain/malt shop and this seems like a good candidate. You do have to cross the river, however.
