My local paper's food section had an article about an upcoming two-part documentary entitled, "The Meaning of Food"--see link. While the review of the program was tepid (reviewer thought that commentary is obvious and personal stories are fragmented), still sounds interesting to me. Chef Marcus Samuelsson will be hosting the program, which is a personal draw for me.
From the website, it sounds like the program is packed w/ a lot of interesting but brief snippits so I can see how it may lack some depth. The website also includes lesson plans, ideas, and resources for educators, so you might want to record the program for such use.
