Had dinner for my mom's birthday at Pazo last night and it was terrific. The atmosphere is cozy, but elegant and had a mediterranean flair. The food was outstanding. The bread basket was delicious with four different choices, the best was the muffin. The sommelier sent over a selection of tapas, all of which were amazing, but the best was undoubtedly the calamari and sundried tomatoes. The squid melted in our mouths. As an appetizer I had the mussels which were good, but not outstanding. My parents had the mint fettucine with lamb and goat cheese (to die for), and the scallops, equally delicious. As a main course I had the honey glazed duck on plum gnocchi, it was divine, and my parents had the chicken and apricot tagine, the best chicken in new york. The desserts were equally good, from an interesting baklava, to a sinful vanilla bean creme brulee. It was a splurge, but well worth it for the fabulous service, wine, and incredible food.
