this is by no means gourmet, but i like getting pay per pound food (in delis, etc) for lunch. sure, sure, you can make your case about how the food is never fresh, the sanitary issues, etc, etc, but i love getting small amounts of food and trying a lot of things out. that got me thinking - where can i find the best pay per pound food in the city? in terms of variety, freshness and obviously, tastiness? i just went to korean lunch spot (forgot the name... i think it starts with a W?) on 32nd street where i got pork belly, bulgogi, beef ribs, a whole fish (sanma in japanese... mackeral in english?) and some korean sushi that was very tasty. any other suggestions? i'm really interested in what people have to say.
