Tried this place for lunch today and was completely underwhelmed. The space was nice--sparse and clean. 2 huge tv's showing ESPN detracted, though. 2 of us split a thin crust with artichoke hearts and feta. The crust was more like a quick dough than a yeast dough to my taste. Not much tooth or chew to it. Also not enough flavor--it needed salt, but it also lacked the depth of a good yeast bread. The tomato sauce lacked flavor. The toppings were good, cut into proper sizes and well-distributed. The amount of cheese seemed about right in proportion to sauce and toppings.

I know it's not pizza, but I gotta vent about the salad, too. It was pre-mix salad and as is so often the case, there were several small rotten, slimy bits in it. I piled them off to the side and the pile elicited nary a comment from the waiter. I chose the "tomato-basil vinegrette" for dressing. It was catsup with dried herbs in it. Sickly sweet and weirdly corn-starchy.

Boy do I miss Viccolo.
