Chicago Chowhound: What with pandemic etc I had not been to Devon Avenue in a while. This morning I was blown away by Patel's (Indian supermarket) which has improved its time during pandemic with a total remodel. The whole building looks new and the store is amazing---displays, freezers etc are all new and inventory seemed to me to be 400% larger. PS I love it all but the chief magnet that draws me there is SWAD (house brand) Chili Garlic Sauce ($1.99), which makes US ketchup taste like baby food. Do not miss. If using CTA, either Red Line to Loyola or any North-South bus that crosses Devon will put you on the 155 Devon bus; get off at Rockwell. A very fun weekend excursion.
