Pat peeves as a guest at a dinner party?

Let's face it... in recent years, the art of the "dinner party" has turned into more of a paper-plate and pot luck free-for all.

What are some of your pet peeves as a *guest* at a traditional dinner party? I'm asking because I host a lot of them and am looking for ways to improve.

For example, here are some of my pet peeves as a *guest*:

- Unclean bathrooms: I always make sure my guest bathroom is spotless and stocked for a dinner party.

- Bothersome animals - just because you like your animals doesn't mean people want them jumping all over them or barking loudly. I have two Pugs which I always take to the dog park on the day of the party and wear out so they're tired and relaxed during the dinner party. And depending on how formal the dinner party is, I may also put them in a bedroom with toys during the meal.

- Scented candles competing with food or trying to cover a dingy smelling home.
