pastrami detour, never ending...

Back in 2001, Vital Information wrote here--in response to a post-er who cited his trek from Captiva to the Rascal House for a pastrami sandwich:

"If you ever read some of the other boards, you will see that I have written extensively on Rascal House, going as far to say it may be the best resturant in the world!! Well, maybe I did not quite say that, but I could...

On the othe hand, while I have no knowledge of Captiva Island, I do know some pretty good places along the Tamiani Trail, which I assumed you took, perhaps next time I can save you a 1/2 hour. As you probably know, tamiami trail also turns into "Calle Ocho".

Vital--could you post your Tamiami Trail picks to the Florida Board? Are they east coast or west coast?

Who knows, but after a few days of mellowing out in Bonita Sprigs, we might even schlep the 110 miles across Alligator Alley ourselves just to eat and score bread and rugelach at Wolfies...
