Pasteurized whole egg - where?

Will Owen | Mar 7, 2006 11:27 AM

When I lived in Nashville I used to buy quarts of pasteurized whole egg at Robert Orr/Sysco, the local equivalent to Smart & Final. I used it mostly for preparations that require uncooked egg, such as mayonnaise, to avoid having to worry about such trivia as salmonella. However, all I've been able to find in the LA area is either plain or jazzed-up egg white (like Eggbeaters, echhh), no whole egg. Has anyone seen the whole egg product anywhere? I think I did see some once at S&F, but it was frozen for some strange reason.
