Hi hounds, I need some help finding a birthday party location. I hope you're as full of great ideas as you usually are.
Who: 15-30 adults
When: weekend night
Where: South Bay/Westside, but will consider other locales.
What: casual fun environment that is part bar/part restuarant. Don't have to have a private room. Or bar options with nearby restuarant options.(?)
Restrictions: Unwilling to guarantee # of people or pay a per-head price, or pick a preset menu (We spend a lot, but I *hate* to tell people how much they will spend.)
Also, no heavy meat restuarants that will exclude the vegetarians and no Thai, Indian or other nut-heavy cuisines (refer to earlier reports of the Mr.'s allergies.)
Examples: I've done this kind of party successfully at Toppers, then Monsoon in Santa Monica; Duke's Malibu then Fritto Misto; and Baja Cantina in Marina del Rey. (Also, went to a similar one done VERY unsuccessfully at Sangria in Hermosa).
Other info: In my fantasies, there is a Westside location of Monsieur Marcel that can handle this many people on a weekend.
