I am taking this thursday off to catch up on errands and just relax. I've never done this before (just taken a day off without traveling somewhere), so I am really excited about this :)
And what kind of day off would it be without a hunt for some deliciousness. I am trying to find a place for lunch in Boston since I don't venture there much from the Cambridge side of the river. I'd prefer a casual place where I could linger over coffee with a book and not feel funny eating alone.
I've never been to Parish cafe. Is it really great or is it just hype. Dax's post about Rachel's kitchen just gave me a craving for a perfect grilled cheese... Sel de la Terre is a fun place, but I heard mixed things from friends and on this board, and my own experience there has been mixed. Grotto does great lunch, but we are going there for dinner on friday :) I also heard that Flour bakery in south end is good, but have never tried it. What am I missing? I am not particularly in the mood for Asian, so this rules out chinatown.
The current options are:
Sel de la Terre
Let me know what you guys think.
