We had dinner at luna last weekend. The staff were gracious and helpful from the moment we entered the restaurant. The decor and table setting showed obvious care and attention to detail. We sat down and ordered champagne, and were promptly rewarded with a bowl of steamed baby clams lightly sauced with a cream / white wine and chive sauce. Perfectly done and the sauce at the bottom of the bowl was heaven with bread. We ordered the only daily special as starter; lobster salad with greens in a perfectly balanced balsamic and pistachio oil dressing. Simply amazing. By this point we had moved on to a premier cru chablis; crisp and perfect with the gentle flavor of the dressing.
Our mains were HUGE slabs of various fish. Sole meuniere was the best I have ever had. Grilled turbot was grilled to smoky perfection. Two others shared a whole sea bass, served with beurre blanc. The mains were accompanied by a bowl of puree of potatoes with butter and olive oil. We were surprised that no vegetables were offered, but had had greens with the lobster salad so didn't comment.
After consuming so many pounds of fish, or seemingly so, we could only muster the energy for one dessert. The cheese looked interesting. The dessert, Baba au rhum, was very good but not the best I've tasted. This is a fish restaurant, though. It should be noted that only fish and shellfish were on the menu.
Total for 4 was 500 Euro. We all had the lobster salad which was 42Euro, and worth any amount they would ask...... Also, we had 2 bottles of wine @60Euro.
