Paris foodie weekend review

Belkisw | Nov 14, 202108:41 AM     2

I am back from a fabulous food weekend in Paris and wanted to share my notes.

We had lunch at KGB (of Ze Kithchen team) and it was fabulous. Such great French cooking with just the right amount of Asian fusion.

We had lunch at Au Bourse Et La Vie and between the confit leeks with hazelnuts, and the steak tartare were so satisfied- excellent cooking.

For dinner we went to Clamato and wow, I was blown away, more so even then Septime. It was one of the best meals I have had in ages. Items not to miss (which means bring a group of friends so you can try many different things)- the tarama (texture is mindblowing), tater tots, spinach (so delicious and umami), monkfish schnitzel (out of this world- am still dreaming about it), and of course the maple syrup tart. And we had one of their own bottles of white- a beautiful wine.

Then our second dinner was at Juveniles, and jesus that was spectacular French cooking. Really stunning, every bite. It was truly stunning. The scallops, the foie, the ris de veau, the apple crumble. Wow! And of course excellent wine and excellent sherries (we had about four).

We had brunch at ECHO- do yourself a flavor and get the avocado toast- the menu undersells the dish. It was one of the best, if not the best, avo on toast I have ever had.

And finally, we went to Cedric Grolet. We didnt realize that now to go to the Salon du The you need a booking, so we ended up just buying one of the 5 tarts that they let you buy from the front, and this large cooking insane thing. I have to say, these desserts really are up there. If you had any one of them at a 3 star restaurant, you would be incredibly pleased and impressed. Truly amazing what he is doing. We hard the lemon tart, and a baba au rhum with passionfruit. And the incredible caramel cookie thing. I was most impressed by how none of the desserts were very sweet, and so balanced.

All in all, not a single bad bite, and in fact only excellent ones, which is what makes a great weekend.
