I'm sure the topic of Paris's best restaurants has been covered many times but my searches don't yield a satisfyingly succinct post/replies and I prevail upon the Paris experts for some advice.
I am arranging (I'm an event planner) a dinner for two for a VIP client this Friday (5/2) night in Paris. He ate at Cinq this past Monday and was very impressed so I want to at least equal that experience and hopefully surpass it. He considered Ledoyen, but I think we can offer something a little less stuffy. I prefer to stay away from the 'classics' - Tour L'Argent, Taillevent, Pre Catalan etc - and to find something a little more cutting edge, though not too obscure in terms of preparation and presentation. I also prefer an independent restaurant versus a hotel restaurant. Guests are staying in 8th.
Thank you very much for your help. ~ Aron
