My wife and I visited the Paragon restaurant at the Foxwoods Casino this past Friday. It was our anniversary and we were staying over night at the resort. We had a superb experience at the Paragon.
We had 5:30pm reservations and there were only a few tables occupied when we were seated. We were given a corner table, with a large window behind us that showed the mountains and the setting sun. A beautiful site. We were offered a complimentary glass of champagne, something offered to everyone it seems. The menu had many interesting choices and the prices were appropriate for the caliber of restaurant we were in.
We started with the foie gras and escargots. The foie gras was excellent, combined with bacon, thin apple slices and fried matchstick potatoes. We got a dozen escargot in a garlic sauce, with chopped tomatoes and a buttered brioche. Also excellent. Our entrees were an Alaskan black cod and an American Kobe sirloin. Both had ample portions and were absolutely delicious. We had one side, delmonico potatoes that were moist and cheesey. We also had an Oregon pinot noir to accompany our meal. Prior to our appetizers, we received a complimentary appetizer plate, consisting of a piece of marinated beef, a ginger chicken and smoked salmon. A very nice start to our meal.
Dessert, which we had to order with our meal because it takes so long to cook, was a chocolate souffle with a creme anglais that was heavenly. It was one of the best souffles I have ever had. And after that, we were given a small plate of three additional chocolates and desserts, as an anniversary gift. We had mentioned to the waitress sometime during the meal that we were on our anniversary.
The service was impeccable. Our main waitress, Jennifer, was efficient, pleasant, prompt. Everything you could want in a waitress. She had two assistans who were equally as helpful. We were not rushed at all.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Paragon to anyone going to Foxwoods who wants a high end meal.
