Thanks to Xavier, I've tried my first panini and boy was it good.
Scoppa is an Italian place on E. 28 (just east of Madison) and serves sandwiches, salads, pastas and some panini's. It's a pretty simple and clean place that has a some seating in the main room but also has a side room with additional seating.
I had the Mozzarella and Bresaola panini with roasted red peppers. It could have used a little more meat, but there was plenty of cheese which was nice and gooey from toasting. Very tasty. They also have an Italian Ham and cheese, a chicken breast and a four cheese panini.
I will certainly try the other's.
Has anyone been to this place as well as others and can tell me how Scoppa compares? Where are the good panini places in the city? There was an earlier post (from 4/14/2002) by CTer about a panini place across from the Beekman Hospital - is it any good?
