went to pane e vino (off beverly) to discuss menus for the rehearsal dinner that we're planning there. fiancee and i decided to have dinner. recollection of posts related to "best steak" in LA, reminded me of mr. grub's rec for a ribeye at the place - rare. i ordered as posted by grubster. very good steak and a steal of a deal at 25 bucks. came with greens, a broiled tomato, and rosemary potatoes. i normally do not order a steak at an italian place - but this was a superb piece of meat. i normally do not like charred steaks either, but the char on this steak was not bitter but rather flavorful (perhaps with the oil or herbs the steak is dressed with prior to grilling?)
thanks for the tip mr. grub.
