Pan Asia - long - sorry

Husband and I tried Pan Asia - Garden Dragon??? (Lots of names) on Broadway in South Boston last night. The service was terrible. In fact, the guy seated next to us told us he was ordering a pizza to be delivered there because his food was taking so long. We ordered soup, a dinner each, and a glass of wine. The wine took about 20 minutes, the soup about 35. Our dinner arrived about 45 minutes later, and it wasn't the right meal. The waiter left the white rice and returned the main dish - only to bring the correct dish back about 10 minutes later - with the rice being cold.

That said, the food was actuallly good. I had hot and sour soup and my husband had the wonton soup. Both were excellent. As good if not better than any hot and soup I have had in Chinatown - and I have tried a lot. My husband commented that his wonton soup was enough for a meal.

We split Beef Chow Foun (sp???) and Kung Pao chicken. The beef was ok, and he chicken was delicious. We should have known to avoid teh beef when the waiter didn't even know it was on the menu.

In my opinion, it looks like they are being overambitious with the menu. They have sushi, thai, chinese, and japanese. There are too many choices.

I forgot to mention, that when we got there, we were seated next to an empty table with dirty dishes on top of it. These dishes remained for most of our meal. I tried to let that pass, but when the tables behind us left the restaurant, the servers failed to clear these tables also. At one point, my hubby and I were surronded by 5 diry tables for 20 or more

I want the place to succeed for selfish reasons. I want a delicious sushi/thai place in the area. But this place was terrible. A lot of work needs to be done before it will be decent.

On the plus side - 2 soups, 2 glasses of wine, and 2 meals came to about $31 before tip.
