Irenes scathing, eviscerating & yet wonderfully readable review of both of our Palms restaurants in todays Times when I realized the writer was not SIV at all, but Emily Green. A big booya for Emily. Check it out. A restaurant reviewer can be informative, clever, humorous, well-written, & convincingly critical at the same time. Who knew?
The Grubs agree w her basic take: the food -- even the signature steaks -- is clearly not worth it, but it is somehow an upbeat experience nevertheless. When we've dined on our own dimes, however, we & our fellow diners have never been joyful about having our wallets shop-vac'd.
