Thank you Marty L!!! After failing to scrounge up three friends, I had a great dinner at the bar yesterday. The Roast Chicken was incredible. Perfectly marinated, piping hot, and incredibly juicy (Frank Ruta must brine it - that's the only way I can imagine the breast meat could stay so moist and tasty - really well seasoned, but the waiter wouldn't give up what's in it. Honestly it put Corduroy to shame. The service was great, bartender was really nice, he was juicing oranges for cocktails and gave me a glass gratis.
All for the crazy price of $9 bucks! BTW the chicken came with some great greens - maybe escarole or chard that was sauted with lemon zest and garlic. A great meal at a great price, plus you can sit anywhere ni the front room or outside. The bar menu also had a hamburger, some interesting potato dish with meyer lemons and a a few other dishes, including a homemade pasta and rabbit ragu. How can they afford to do this? I will definitly be a regular there!
