20 individuals from little ones to grandparents are attending a wedding in LV. We were all going to stay at Bellagio, but they were unaccommodating in the extreme, so the new site is the Venetian. I've looked over almost every menu at that hotel's dining rooms, and even though I live in San Francisco, I'm speechless at the high prices, never mind the utterly unappealing-sounding dishes and total disregard for sustainability. Chilean seabass? Heaven help us.
My personal preference is for simple. fresh, southern-accented Italian (remember, the choice of style is not mine; we have to accommodate the above-mentioned range of ages and who knows how many different tastes). If we (spouse and I) decide to come a couple of days ahead, we will undoubtedly try LOS and one of Robuchon's spots. (BTW, if we decide to drive, will a car be a help or another hindrance in LV; I've never been there. We would stay somewhere inexpensive before the wedding party started.)
If there's a decent Italian spot not too far from the hotel, maybe we can persuade the group to go there. I guess the parents of the littlest ones want to be not too far from their rooms.
Many thanks for your expertise!
