Paison's in Waltham

Went to this place last night to check it out. It's one of the latest Mexican restaurants to pop up in the neighborhood recently (formerly Bukaroos). I have to say, the food was just not that good.

The salsa severed with the chips was very watery and did not have much flavor. Nachos seemed to be smothered in Velveta (no kidding). One of my friends asked for guac and was served this small plastic container of green liquid. There was no sign of avacodo in there at all. My burrito was OK, but the pastor filling was pretty weak. I noticed that the refries that came with my friend's meal looked like soup. It seems like they puree everything. When my other friend asked for 2 chicken tacos and 2 beef, he was told they didn't have beef, however when the nachos came out they were covered in beef. Not sure what's going on here, but there are better Mexican options in the area. Guess I'll stick with Taqueria Mexico on Charles St.

As a side note, I have tried the Hungry Coyote which took over the SoCal location and found it to be pretty decent for tacos and burritos. It's sort of cafeteria style with all the fillings in a steam tray (like Anna's), but the food has been very good and affordable. Actually, I like this place better than Anna's which I find sort of bland.
