Painting a Kitchenaid Mixer?

DBinNOLA | Feb 3, 201605:57 PM     6

I did ask this question in an off topic to another post, but thought a new post may get me an answer. I have a question about painting the KA mixers. I just purhased a used mixer for $200 and am happy with my purchase, because new are going $350 and higher. The one I purchased is pastel pink and I want to paint it a custom red metallic which would be a great accent piece in my kitchen. My question is, can the tilt head be removed from the base? I do not want to have pink paint showing when the head is tilted.
