Does anyone out there know the NYC Regulations on outdoor grilling in Manhattan? If so, could I have a short summary?
The reason I ask is because tenants, who live in a 4-story brownstone next to me, frequently grill in the rear courtyard. I live in the brownstone next door on the 3rd floor (rear) and, from time to time when they are having one of their cookouts, I wonder what I'll do and what I should take with me in the event their grilling gets out of hand and starts a fire. The acrid odor of burning starter fluid wafting up in the air and coursing through my apartment only adds to the imagination. I'd hate to spoil their party, but if it's illegal, I just might call the police the next time.
