New Orleans in March - Dinner Decisions Help!

hchambers86 | Feb 17, 202012:48 PM     20

Hi Chowhounders!

My husband I will be making our first (and way too short) trip to Nola in March. I'm a restaurant owner in NY and given it's our first visit, want to focus on having true New Orleans cuisine (aka, saving Saba/Shaya, some of the other places that sound super amazing but are less traditional for next time). We're there Friday-Sunday and are planning to hit up some combination of Commander's or Brennan's (can anyone break that tie?) Parkway/Domisille's, and Luizza's for breakfast/brunch, Turkey + Wolf, Willa Mae's and Superior Seafood for "snacks" (anyone have opinions on the best oysters? Also considering bourbon house, acme, felix...), but am totally torn about dinner. Clancy's looks super classic, I've heard good things about Coquette, Upperline and Gabriella's also are intriguing...I think we'll want to skip John Besh's places this trip but I know they're great too.

Any advice? Anything we're missing? We both love food and are really excited to get to know Creole cuisine. Thank you!!!
