Ended-up at Organix Neighborhood Market in Eagle Rock yesterday (in the quest for a vegan roast - it was found). Sweet little grocery, but painfully expensive. As in, it's unlikely I will ever purchase groceries there again, unless I strike it rich.
That being said, they have a very good vegan deli. I had one of the better sandwiches I've ever had, and it was vegan: the Chicken, Bacon Ranch (Grilled Vegan Chicken, Homemade Ranch, Homemade Coconut Bacon, Grilled Onions, Lettuce and Tomato on choice of available bread.) Very flavorful.
My friend ordered the CASTRO (Signature Veggie Burger) (Mildly Spicy Signature Burger made from Butternut Squash, Black Beans, Quinoa, Pumpkin Seeds, Oats and many herbs and spices, spicy jalapeno cheese, Grilled Onions and our signature house made Chipotle Aoli, Lettuce and Tomato on a wheat bun.) Her's was beautiful, bursting with flavor, and a complete mess to eat.
We split an order of french fries which were more than adequate.
Of course, we then darted across Colorado Blvd to Eagle Rock Italian Bakery (http://eaglerockitalianbakery.com/) and got cream puffs. And other "necessary" things.
