I miss Oregon food and wine

sav | Jun 4, 2008 08:14 AM

We lived in McMinnville for 4 years and moved in Feb to Idaho, we are huge skiers and missed winter and snow. Happy to have landed here, but ohh we miss the food and drink of McMinnville and Portland. For those planning trips there this summer, some top faves:

restaurants:
Bistro Maison in McMinnville. Never had a bad experience there. Food is fab.
Fenouil in Portland. Loved bringing the kids to play in the fountain and then sitting out on the patio for drinks and happy hour.
Portland Farmer's Market, especially those little peppers that you get at the end of the summer, fry them up in some olive oil and coarse salt, hum. can't remember their exact name
Serratos (thing I'm spelling it right), sitting out in the summer, very kid friendly

wines: (sorry, know this is off topic)
anything Sineann, anything from the Pines, Beaux-Freres, Abacela

Enjoy your food and wine you luckies! I'm off to the Olive Garden for lunch...
