From the previous posters at this site highly recommending Uncle Frank's bbq in Mt. View, I attempted last night to try to eat his food.
First, because it was mentioned the service in house was slow and take out was the way to go, I went to Uncle Frank's web site to see if there was menu. Nope, site was *under construction*. There was a phone number and I tried to call to place an order (I was going to order what others here had mentioned, the brisket, etc.), I tried from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m.
There was no answer, no message, just endless ringing.
Finally, I got in my car and drove there. The parking lot was packed. There was no smoke or any aroma of bbq (does he even cook on site???). I walked in and saw a bar with one patron sitting there drinking a beer. Back in the corner, there was a long line (maybe 15 people) standing there just waiting to place their order (I guessed this since I knew you couldn't call ahead)
I figured if they were waiting to place their order, then they would have to wait endlessly for the food to cook. And the line was not moving. It looked like at least an hour wait.
I walked out and now am very hesitant to go back. Is there a better time to go? Does Uncle Frank realize he is losing business as I wasn't the only one to walk in and walk out empty handed?
