I think someone posted about this restaurant not too long ago, but another option for charcoal Korean barbecue is Soo Won Galbi on Vermont. We tried the Wang Galbi (King Galbi) and the Daegi bulgogi (spicy marinated pork). The galbi was really well done, at least for my taste - not too sweet, not too heavily marinated so that the flavor of the beef could shine through. The pork, however, was very typical of what I've been finding - over-sauced and muddled in flavor.
Anyway, although it is somewhat of a hole in the wall, I do like it better than Soot Bull Jeep, primarily because they have much better ventilation and the side dishes were cleaner in flavor. I also think it may be a few dollars cheaper, the galbi was $18.99 (I think).
