I'm choosing a neighborhood (I'm in Noe valley) restaurant for an outing this weekend. For various reasons, it should be *casual* Italian. I'm considering Palatino in Bernal because I ate there over a year ago and liked quite a bit. I did a search on chowhound.com and came up with only two messages. Then I did a Google search of site:www.chowhound.com and it came with nothing (which is kind of interesting in itself because it shows that Google is not infallible). The chowhound.com search engine didn't find anything either.
On that only visit a year ago the place was hopping. It's small and had recently opened. It was full of what-looked-like Bernal Heights people who were "starving" for more good restaurants in their neighborhood. The Southern-Italian style pastas were excellent.
The two messages are about as old as my visit and didn't particularly help. One of them warned that the place might be uneven.
Has anybody been there since? And ...?
