One more opinion about cole slaw

I think I've read all the different "cole slaw" threads in the last several weeks. I love the stuff, so I was fascinated. Some deja vu re: cole slaw advice you all posted from summer of 2002. Soak in salt/soak in kosher salt/soak in sugar/soak in vinegar...I thought I was missing the cutting edge of cole slaw-making. My first attempt (probably last)at all this incredible soaking was a disaster. First time I ever threw out a batch of cole slaw. The most vinegary, gloppy stuff I never want to eat again.
There are simple cole slaw recipes out there, and they hold up just fine for several days without the soaking and the wringing them out and the...
