Oktoberfest at Camino

escargot3 | Oct 12, 2010 08:47 AM

Last nite a group of us delighted in Camino's "Oktoberfest Montag" special fantabulous meal.

$30 prix fixe included
-a delicate "salade compose" plate of carrots (perhaps with a light rose water addition?), beets and cucumber
- total jaw-dropping smoked pork, with housemade pork jowl sausage, sauerkraut, and an extremely tastey housemade German pretzel
- the best scoop of hazelnut ice cream I've had, served with chunks of dark chocolate floating in a sea of "schlag" (whipped cream).

It was amazing.
The service was excellent.
And of course, we also enjoyed the smoked mussels, and an incredible additional dessert of wood oven roasted figs with a shockingly delightful bay ice cream, and a thin buckwheat cookie on the side.

Chances are good you will find me there again next Monday!
