My offspring as recently divorced, seeks out all the good local ethnic lunch dives and prounced Ohaam to be tops. We tried it yesterday. Think Persian, quiet, stern servers, big plates of food, formal - Not like that here. Its a hip setting in a storefront done in fennel greens, greys, light woods, butcher paper on the tables and a movie/tv screen on the far wall - good background music too AND very good, very reasonable food: I had turkey porridge - interesting but I gave it to SO since my Scottish taste buds expecting the jook taste, couldn't get past sweet, cinnamon, porridge and turkey. So I had half SO's bountious burger in a big french roll with large salad, plus an order of Persian potato salad with peas and mint. V.good. Had homemade yoghurt drink and Bob the young owner brought us tea telling us that he is open from 11 to 11 weekdays and is open now until 2 on weekends, shortly to be 4 on weekends. Dinner menu (offspring had the white fish for 10.95 which is about the most expensive thing on the menu, one night). Lunch specials 6.95 to 7.95 with sandwiches same range served with salad. Nice atmosphere, lots of street parking in front, at the side and in the lot. Very upbeat place.
