Odd menu advertising

Transplanted Texan | Dec 30, 2007 06:45 PM

We made the mistake of going to Chileno's in Oklahoma City the other night. I've never been to restaurant whose menu had ads for bail bondsmen and criminal defense attorneys! Clearly the sign of a sheltered life.

The Tex-Mex food at Chileno's was mediocre. They serve something they call queso that looked and tasted like Cambell's condensed cream of celery soup with a few chiles added. The salsa was made with fresh tomatoes but since they had no taste, the restaurant would've been better off using canned. The chips were too thick and somewhat stale. The enchiladas were okay.

I can't believe that's the best OKC can do, being so close to Texas. I've had better Tex-Mex north of the Mason-Dixon line and believe me, that is no compliment!
