Had dinner at Oceanfront last night. The restaurant was half-full when we sat down, but the bar was busy and noisy. I had the Caesar (just average - long pale romaine leaves and a kind of odd-tasting creamy dressing) and the rib eye. The rib eye was huge. Even after inhaling my share and giving my husband a big chunk, there's 3 - 4 oz. of it in my fridge waiting to be sliced into for a steak sandwich. The rib eye was very good with a peppery-sweet sauce and a side of pureed potatoes.
My husband had the crab cake and the salmon, but I got no bites. Greedy thing. Must have been OK, since those plates were emptied.
Service was fine in that "a different guy for every function" way. Not anything special, but neither indifferent nor overbearing.
This is the second time in several weeks that we have eaten in a "nice" hotel restaurant that was definitely NOT hopping. We had an 8 o'clock reservation, but clearly didn't need it.
