Ocean Delight in South San Jose

yimster | Apr 3, 200406:54 PM

Today after we attended a Ching Ming service in San Jose we tried a new dim sum and Cantonese seafood place named Ocean Delight on the recommendation of Mrs. Lee.

The service was quick and good. The dim sum was good, hot and can quickly from the kitchen and they were willing to get you dishes not on the carts. They have been opened since August of last year. The place is really new and clean. We had perserved egg and salted pork jook with fried bread (the bread was really fresh and crispy), Har Gow (lots of big pieces of shrimp), Sai Mei (Mrs. Yimster said it had too much shrimp and not enough pork), Sesame Balls, Steamed tofu skin rolls, Stuffed tofu triangles, Sweet tofu and sweet rice balls with black sesame paste which ran out a little fresh but thick. This meal came to 25.00 or so. Petty cheap but we were partly full do to the light meal we had during the Ching Ming service.

They offer a bunch of set menus starting at $48.00. Here is the best part the set dinners are written in English so you do not need someone who can read Chinese. They had a lot of swimming seafood in there tanks and they looked freah and lively. They also have a soup and three seafood dishes which changes daily for $36.00

Yesterday was
Seafood soup
Steamed Live Red Rock Cod
Steamed Fresh Oyster in Black Bean Sauce
Seafood Stir Fry.

The Lady Manager said that if we did not see what we like she would design a meal for us if we told what we like and how much we wanted to spend. We spoked to in Chinese mostly but she spoke enough English to me that no Chowhound will have a problem.
