Next Oakland lunchtime Chowdown Tuesday August 3 at Huynh

susancinsf | Jul 29, 200406:15 PM     1

Just back from our latest Oakland lunchtime Chowdown, and it was another winner! Joel will post on that one shortly, but in the meantime, our next in the series is only a few days away!

Since we had Vietnamese today (At Binh Minh Quan) we will try another Downtown Oakland Vietnamese place, Huyhn, on Tuesday, August 3rd, at noon. A sample of some of the menu items are linked below. I think of Huyhn as more 'upscale' Vietnamese, but in truth only the decor is slightly upscale, prices are quite reasonable. Several of our lunchtime group have eaten there previously and have always enjoyed the food, we look forward to trying a wider variety of dishes with a bigger group. Our lunch should be no more than around $15 per person.

If you are already on the evite list for the Oakland lunch series, you should be getting an evite from Joel Teller shortly. Otherwise, please email Joel at jtchowhound@hotmail.com and he will add you to the evite list. Since Huyhn is a relatively large restaurant and accepts reservations, we should be able to accomodate as many as 12 to 14 persons, but please let Joel or me know of your interest no later than noon on Monday so that I can verify the numbers for our reservation.

The Oakland lunchtime Chowdown series is batting 1000: all of our lunches to date have been delicious, good value and lots of fun in good company. Don't miss this next one!

Susan
