I had a delightful (and cheap) dinner on Friday night at this little Portugese cafe in East Cambridge.

I wasn't too hungry, so I just ordered the portugese-style tuna fish sandwich, with comes with a choice of a side item (I chose fried potatoes)$5.50ish.
Yumm! The canned tuna fish is prepared with oil, parsley, pimentos, onions, and probably some other spices. No mayonnaise. It was delicious. Generous serving on a large fresh bun. The fried potatoes were a superlative "potato chip" experience. They are slices of potato fried to order and seasoned with just the right amount of salt. (Think homefry consistency, but potato chip shape.)

I also ordered a cafe com leite, which was great! Just the right temperature, sweetness, & milk.

Always with a sweet tooth, I managed to conjure enough of an appetite to try the rice pudding. It was tasty. Nothing out of this world, but reminscent of my cuban grandmother's omnipresent rice pudding.

The website is attached. Everything is a tremendous value. A short (very! 3/4) wine list is priced $3.50/glass or $14/bottle.

My bill, which includes coffee, sandwich, side, dessert was $10.
