NYC Cannoli and Sfogatelle Tasting Crawl: Chicago Hound Reports

Cannoli and Sfogatelle were the second targets for the "dessert" portion on our recent tasting Crawl series. Basically conducted alongside the pizza slice crawl and cheesecake crawls. (see links on Manhattan and outer boro boards).

We only tried Cannoli and Sfogatelle from DeRoberti's (1st Ave. and 11th st) and Veneiro's (11th St. btw 1st & 2nd). Both cannoli samples were chocolate covered vanilla. Both were reasonably tasty as far as cannoli goes. An extremely sweet dessert where "a little goes a long way". At this point we have a slight preference for DeRoberti's but no strong cravings for either.

Sfogatelle...well not in rush for more from either baker.
