NY Times review of Hunan Village (Yonkers)

I read this Sunday's review by M.H. Reed in the Westchester section and four of us went Sat. night to check it out. He gave this place the top rating: "Excellent." Cold noodles in sesame sauce was a tiny portion in a pedestrian sauce, although praised by the reviewer. We ordered five entrees -- pressed duck with cashews, General Tso's chicken, shredded beef, prawns with hot chili sauce and a vegetarian dish of mushrooms, bamboo shoots and other vegetables. While nothing we had was "bad" there was nothing to justify the glowing review, either. The pressed duck was strange and lacked flavor (and duck), the chicken had far too much untrimmed fat, skin and tendon, and the prawns were unaccountably sweet. Despite our having ordered five dishes for four, two of us left hungry. Our first visit was our final visit.
