November 2021 DOTM – FRENCH FRIES

Welcome to our DOTM reporting thread for November 2021. Our dish this month is French Fries. French fries are a dish that usually consists of potatoes that are cut into even strips, then deep-fried. According to Wikipedia, the dish originated in either Belgium or France, and goes by a variety of names, including Chips (in British English) and French-Fried Potatoes.

There are many different variations on French Fries, including using different types of potatoes (e. g. russets, sweet potato, or Yukon Gold), different cuts (shoestring, waffle, or steak frites-style), and different approaches to cooking them. For example, during the voting round, I heard rumbles about a cold oil approach, which I’m super curious about! Anyway, please feel free to be creative in your French Fry making this month!
