Stayed at the Park Hyatt Place Vendome (on points - thank goodness!) Excellent location, super-slick, gorgeous room - they upgraded us to a deluxe 3rd floor room, great bathrooms with very unusual bath/shower rooms - English hotel shower & a sink in the shower! Very very very expensive room service - 2 teas - $20, 1 7 oz. bottle tonic water - $9, 1 lobster sandwich (yumm) & a chicken caesar - no drinks - $85. Again, thank God, the room was free!
Lunch 1st day at Bofinger - what a great experience! Best oysters ever - #2 Specials, escargot only thing I wouldn't try again. Friendly service, tasty roasted almonds & hazelnuts in the bar - just a great experience people-watching & chowing!
Dinner that night at La Perouse, thanks to rec's from this board. Were given an upstairs private room for 2 - so romantic & the red velvet divan on one wall didn't hurt! Prix fix dinner with great choices - my poached & roasted foie gras was the whole thing - 2 lobes - never seen that much & didn't think I would finish, but I did. Husband's escargot in a parsley/parmesan sauce were great. Entrees were delicious (I'm totally spacing - think I had roasted lobster) & desserts too - delicious souffle with raspberry sauce. Wonderful service - thank goodness they had a sense of humor erery time they knocked & we said 'who's there?" (Well, not every time - we weren't totally obnoxious!) One of the best meals of our trip & would go back in a heartbeat. Fabulous unique experience in a charming romantic restaurant.
Had resv at St. Hubert the next day for lunch & le Grand Vefour for dinner - we cancelled as so overwhelmed by all the food after Barcelona & 10 days on Silversea & were almost relieved we didn't have to go through the whole formal dining experience. Next visit - we'll be there longer & space things out.
Did Crazy Horse the next night, which was cute -another one time only deal, then Buddha Bar for drinks afterwards - that was fun.
