Good solid dinner at Pif's on Thursday.

Waitress not spectacular, but solid.

started with escargot pernod and foie gras terrine.
both superb.

then duck breast with raisins, can't recall the sauce, but was probably a wine sauce, and mashed potatoes instead of the offered wild rice.
very smooth potatoes (read that as heaps and heaps of butter and cream mixed in)
also the grouper, with sauce good enough to sop up bread.

can't recall the dessert specifically except to say the presentation was lacking, with the cake to one side and a pool of creme anglaise sauce on the rest
(should put cake in middle; on one side it reminds the diner how little he's actually getting for the money)

also cup of coffee. total bill, before tip, was $86.

one down, three to go:
tre scalini, las cazuelas, fuji.
