Northern NJ-Kervan (finally!) and Bromilow's Chocolates

As noted in many past posts and the below link, we found Kervan in Cliffside Park to be extraordinary

We passed on the waitress' offer to prepare the Iskender Kabob from Chicken since they were out of Doner Kabob, instead settling on Lamb, Chicken and ground beef/lamb kabobs. This in addition to an an 8 component mezze platter, including hummes, smoky baba ghanouj rich with tahini, eggplant and roasted peppers, yogurt and cucumbers, and several other mezze: all exquisite. The mezze menu has about 15-20 choices, so there's lots more exploring we need to do here, tough to accomplish when you live 800 miles away in the sunny south.

But Bromilow's Chocolates. Run, don't walk.

We stopped at Bromilow's--located in a small house on Rifle Camp Road on Garret Mountain in West Paterson, having passed it dozens of times returning from eating at Mina's On The Mountain--our favorite Jersey neighborhood Italian.

Bromilow's double rasberry truffles, in fact all the truffles, are excellent, not to mention their creams and chocolate covered dried fruits which are easily as good as very good chocolates in Paris; with the exception perhaps of Christian Constiant's 7th arrondissement temple; and at half the price of big city chocolatiers.

btw--Bromilow's has a second location at Essex Mall in West Caldwell.
