Finally made it to North St last night. Started off with a shrimp toasts. What an original dish! It was unlike anything I had before and we devoured it. Followed up with the lobster risotto with peas. HUGE portion, the risotto was overcooked, but tons of lobster, great truffle oil flavor. For $16 can't complain too much! SO had the ribeye. Again a giant portion, lots of delicious fries and topped with bourbon creamed mushrooms. I will have to order that next time. Dessert was a chocolate cookie with ice cream topped with hot fudge and caramel. Delicious. Had two glasses of wine, SO had beer and sambuca with dessert. Total bill 87 dollars. Can't beat that. Service okay, bartender was also waiting on tables so he was not around too much but was congenial.
I did notice the ventilation problem. We started off at the bar by the kitchen and moved because it was so hot and smokey. Ended up by the door, but still got wafted by the smoke, at least it was cooler. When we got home we smelled like a fryolator. Hope they get that fixed soon.
We will definately go back, next time I will try the mac and cheese.
