I learned a lot of things from this New York Times piece on the Tibetan dumplings called momos:
I learned that the largest US population of Tibetans is in NYC.
I learned that while they are Buddhist Tibetans value meat, a necessary luxury on the roof of the world.
I learned that beef/yak are valued most highly, and that beef momos are perennially available off-menu at Tsampa in the East Village.
I learned about the Tibetan New Year, Losar, which starts today.
And I also learned about a new restaurant in Jackson Heights that the author of the Times piece, Julia Moskin, says has the best beef momos in the neighborhood: Norling Tibet Kitchen.
I did NOT learn however where the blippity bleep this place is located! And it's so new it doesn't exist online anywhere I looked! (Google, Google Maps, Yelp, Foursquare, Chowhound etc.). This, when the title of the slideshow is "Finding Momos in New York." Apparently they expect you to do the finding yourself.
So hounds, does anyone have an address, a phone, anything? I may just have to track Ms. Moskin down and berate her otherwise.
