Noodle Thai Town

joe | Feb 9, 200511:17 PM

I went to Noodle Thai Town, which is on Hollywood near Normandie. The people there are super nice. I ordered #9, kao teo lord, which is rice noodles with ground pork, seafood, and other things, $5. It was one of the most interesting things I've ever eaten, a distinctive mix of peppery and smoky flavors, especially when amped up with the dark green chili sauce from one of the condiment jars. Although not exactly weird, it was so unfamiliar that I'm not actually sure whether it was good. But I'd certainly try it again. Also, there's an interesting Thai bakery just to the east of Noodle Thai Town, and an interesting Armenian bakery just to the west.
