Niman cured meats at Baron's, Alameda MarketPlace

Ruth Lafler | May 6, 200512:15 AM

People are always asking about where to find various cured meats, so when I saw an impressive (to me) selection of Niman cured meats I wrote them down:

Salame
Salametti Napoletani
Applewood smoked ham (steaks, "petit" and larger)
European-style dry-cured "Jamon Royal"
Pancetta
Lardo
Salt pork
Guanciale
and of course, bacon

I also tried one of their "Smart Chicken" breasts, which was excellent, especially the texture.

Baron's Meats
Alameda MarketPlace
1650 Park St.

Hours: 10-8 Mon-Sat, 10-7 Sunday
